My house will be called a house of prayer.
Matthew 21:13
Prayer is an integral part of who we are, as Christians we believe prayer is the direct connection from us to God. When Jesus was here on earth he regularly took time away to find somewhere quiet to pray to His Father in heaven. This was the example he set for us to follow:
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6)
Jesus also made it very clear of how important it was to pray with one another and to make this a priority as part of our lifestyle.
“They devoted themselves to apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42)
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.” (Matthew 18:19-20)
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16)
